About the Artist

Born and raised in the rural Lower Mainland of BC, my childhood was formed by hours roaming the woods and fields of this beautiful place; climbing trees and swimming in creeks. These lush ecosystems and towering trees as seen on the West Coast are what feels most like home to me, and I believe always will.

I have been creating as long as I can remember. My earliest fascination was wildlife; acquiring several sketchbooks packed with drawings of birds, horses or characters from the Lord of the Rings. I knew art was something I couldn’t let go of; even though I almost gave up on it for a few years after becoming disillusioned with any dreams of becoming an ‘artist.’ ADHD and imposter syndrome have been obstacles to overcome as I navigate my personal art style.

As I reflect on my practice over the years, I am realizing the theme flowing through all my work has been “Wonder.” I yearn for the simple wonder that comes with being a child, and chase after that feeling in my adult years by seeking out the mountain peaks of Chilliwack or zooming in on all the intricacies of the rainforests of British Columbia.

“The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from.”
